Welcome! My name is Brittany, founder of Aunt Burt’s Advocacy, and I am an educational advocate dedicated to empowering families and ensuring that every child receives the education they deserve. I specialize in supporting students with disabilities, helping families navigate the complexities of special education laws, and advocating for individualized services tailored to each student’s unique needs.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and Special Education from Niagara University (2014) and a master’s degree in Severe Disabilities from Simmons College (2017). My academic background, combined with my professional experience, equips me with the skills and knowledge necessary to support families and students in achieving educational success.
As a former special education teacher, I understand the challenges families face when working to secure appropriate resources and accommodations. This experience fuels my passion for advocacy and my commitment to helping families succeed.
With extensive knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504, and other educational policies, I work closely with parents, educators, and schools to build collaborative relationships that prioritize student success. Whether it’s guiding families through Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, supporting them in requesting evaluations, or simply providing a listening ear, my goal is to be a reliable and compassionate resource for those who need it most.
My services are fairly priced compared to other advocates and significantly more affordable than lawyer fees. Together, we can ensure your child has access to the tools and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
